The Black Plague of London

Hi everyone!

It is Daniella here. I know you have been learning about the spread of the ´Black Death´ in Europe in your history lessons. So, here is a video about The Great Plague of London, which happened between 1665 and 1666. It was very bad at the time because medicine was not very advanced, which means that they did not have many ways to cure people. And if you were poor, you didn´t have any chance!

Why do you think the Great Plague spread so quickly in a city like London?

Top tip - If you go on the settings icon on the video, you can put subtitles on in English to help you understand.

Here is a fun video where you can learn about William Shakespeare, the biggest playwright in British history! He wrote lots of plays which were acted out on stage in the 1600s (17th century) and reflected on life at the time. He invented lots of words and is very influential to British culture.

Have a look at the British houses and the town, what do you think? Do you like it? Would you like to visit?

Enjoy the video and make sure you answer the short quiz I will send you through Google Classroom!

Who is Shakespeare?

Miss you all!

Daniella :)
