THE EUROPEAN UNION AND ITS COUNTRIES

HELLO again!!

In this Unit we are going to study the European Union but...

What countries belong to the European Union?

Let´s complete your notebook map playing with the following interactive map.

After studying the European Union countries you can label its capital cities.
Here you can find an interactive map with capital cities in spanish.
Remember you have a list in your notebook with all of them.

INVESTIGANDO

La ciencia nace de la curiosidad. Tod@s tenemos curiosidad natural.

HOW DOES THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM WORK?

HOW DOES THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM WORK?

In the puberty ages the reproductive system organs get active. As you know it is necessary a female reproductive cell (Ovum) and a male reproductive cell (spermatozoon).

Can you distinguish which one is the ovum and which one the sperm?

To start we have to investigate about what are the different organs involved in the Reproductive System. In this case, female organs and male organs are different.

When we grow up our body changes. In the puberty ages teenagers change but, what are these changes?

Watch the following video. It´s a long video but, it tells everything we studied in class.
And it also answers some questions you asked in class.

(Read subtitles)

What is the menstrual cycle?

Let´s investigate about the menstrual cycle.
Watch this video.

So now we can write in our notebook a small report to explain the MENSTRUAL CYCLE.

We divided the MENSTRUAL CYCLE into four phases.

What happens if the ovum is fertilised by a spermatozoon?

(Read subtitles!)

Ready to complete your scientific report in your notebook?

How does the circulatory system work?

HOW DOES THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM WORK?

The Circulatory System is very important in the NUTRITION FUNCTION because...
...the Circulatory System transports nutrients and oxygen to our cells.

Two years ago we studied the organs involved in the Circulatory System.

Let´s remember all of them.

In general there are two organs in our Circulatory System: the heart and blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries)

And...another questions that young scientists ask...

What are their functions?

We investigated it using our scientific encyclopedia (Our Natural Science books)

Let´s review it watching the following video

(Read subtitles please)

Did you know what happen in our heart?

(Read subtitles please)

Let´s learn more about blood

What are the cells in blood? What can we see if we use a microscope to see blood?

What are the different blood cells function?

Let´s see how platelets (plaquetas) work when we have a cut

(Read subtitles)

How does the Excretory System work?

HOW DOES THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM WORK?

Two years ago, we studied the main function of the Excretory System.

Do you remember it?

Try to complete the text please using terms as waste, kidneys, urine, Excretory System, blood.

The ________________  __________________ eliminates _____________ subtances in ______________. The ________________________ filter and clean  the blood. The waste subtances are eliminated in ___________________.

Now let´s investigate what are the organs involved in the Excretory System.

Let´s learn more about kidneys and the rest of organs

(Read the subtitles please)

Now let´s fin out the Excretory System process

(Read the subtitles please)

Now you can practice playing, so clic next link

Let´s practice exposing the different organs

After looking for information and read we can write our text to explain the Excretory System process...

HOW DOES THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM WORK?

HOW DOES THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM WORK?

The next system we will study in science class is the Respiratory System.

The Respiratory System is also involved in the NUTRITION FUNCTION

Let´s investigate and practice with the respiratory system organs

In class we classified the Respiratory System Organs using the following diagram

Did you know that our lungs are as ballons?

Lungs expand when we breathe in and reduce when we breathe out!

The diaphragm and intercostal muscles help humans to breathe in and breathe out!

Let´s find out how do we breath...

Don´t forget subtitles can help you!!

If you can´t watch this video, clic the link below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kacMYexDgHg&t=211s

After our investigations...reading...watching videos we can answer the question about how do we breath?

Now check your text please...

HOW DOES THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM WORK?

We know that NUTRITION FUNCTION involves the Digestive System.

The Digestive System is an amazing system in our human body!!

Let´s find out how the Digestive System work.

First of all...Do you remember what are the Digestive System ORGANS??

In the following link you can check what you remember but...there are organs we didn´t study.

DO YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE?

 OF COURSE YOU DO!

Now you remember the Digestive System ORGANS

To study, you can practice and label digestive system organs in your notebook.

Use the following structures to label the different organs while you practice english.

This is an example of the activity in class: "Label the Digestive System organs"

Watch the next video to investigate about how the Digestive System work.

Read subtitles!!

To investigate the digestion process we will use the information we have in our books and the last video
With this information now we can explain the process.

Now, check and correct your text...

Hello again, let´s study the three VITAL FUNCTIONS of our Human Body.

In the following picture you can see what are the different SYSTEMS involved in each VITAL FUNCTION

In class, working in pair we classified the different functions using the following structures

Now you can check and correct your text.

Watch this video!!

In Unit 1 we are going to study the HUMAN BODY...

...so the first question we have to investigate about is...

HOW IS THE HUMAN BODY MADE?

Watching this video we will find the answer out.

You can read subtitles clicking here

Now you have useful information to explain the following diagram

Use these structures to explain... HOW IS THE HUMAN BODY MADE?

Hello everyone!

Let´s start a new amazing course. Let´s discover SCIENCE. This year we will learn and live new experiences.

So...here we go again!!

Before starting, don´t forget to complete your PORTFOLIO cover.
